とり 五鐵 Tori Gotetsu

愛知県名古屋市中村区名駅1-1-4 (Map)
JRセントラルタワーズ13F

Price: $$$

Cuisine: Japanese

Tori means “bird” or “chicken” in Japanese, and that’s exactly what this place serves, in all its varieties. Boring, you might think, but in this case monomaniacal obsession leads to good things. Ravenous Rob recommends the somewhat disturbingly named oyakodon, literally “mother and child,” seasoned chicken cooked with egg and sweet onion over rice; it’s a simple dish done superbly here. Conveniently located right above Nagoya Station on the 13th floor of the JR Central Towers, so it can be a good place to stop on the way to somewhere more interesting.
