It’s a shame this place doesn’t make a better first impression. A trip through the fussy reservation system gave the impression that hardly a table was to be found, but when Ravenous Rob arrived, a third of the seats were empty and the hostess, aggrieved over five minutes tardiness, was distinctly snotty. But a shame it is, because some truly excellent food can be found here. The garlic soup earned high praise, as did roast duck in a simple but entirely satisfying lentil sauce. The only disappointment was dessert; not bad, but a distinct letdown after expectations had been raised so far.
